A Tournament That Connects: GESS and ALBA Berlin’s 3×3 Basketball Cup

We brought the energy of professional basketball to our campus by teaming up with ALBA Berlin’s Asia Academy, the regional arm of the renowned Berlin-based professional basketball club. 

This 3×3 basketball tournament brought together over 40 teams including Singapore teams, international school teams, Proform basketball teams and ActiveSG teams who joined our GESS basketballers for a day of vigorous play and skill-building. 

Guided by professional-level expertise and surrounded by peers who share their love for the game, students built their competition confidence and experienced firsthand what it means to push their limits and act with sportsmanship when playing with such a diverse pool of basketball talents. This tournament was also part of a series of events celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Germany. We are honored to have representatives from SportSG and Her Excellency Dr. Fanghänel, the German Ambassador to Singapore at the event. The event’s success stands as a testament to the strong ties between the two countries and to the shared belief that sports can strengthen intercultural bonds.
