Celebrating Cultures, Traditions and Togetherness at GESS
As the year draws to a close, GESS has been alive with celebrations that highlight the richness of our international community. From lantern-lit traditions to festive gatherings, each event offered our students and families a chance to connect, learn and create lasting memories together.
We began by honouring St. Martin’s Day, where families joined for two enchanting evenings of glowing lantern walks and traditional tunes that created a warm and reflective atmosphere on campus.
Our community spirit continued with the cherished arrival of Sinterklaas. He made a joyful appearance at Marina Bay Sands, delighting families with his festive charm. His visit to GESS in early December was eagerly anticipated, especially by our Dutch community, who warmly welcomed him back to campus.
The season’s celebrations culminated in our much-loved Christmas Bazaar, a highlight on the GESS calendar. The bazaar brought together the entire school community for an evening of food, festive shopping, games and student performances. It was entirely a community effort with everyone from students, teachers and parent volunteers pitching in to make the magic happen.
This festive period reflects how students are growing up in a community enriched by diverse cultures, shared traditions and a strong spirit of collaboration.
