Singapore International School Safeguarding Network: Convening Industry Experts at GESS
On 14 November, GESS hosted the Singapore International School Safeguarding Network meeting, bringing together almost 50 colleagues from other international schools in Singapore, to exchange valuable insights.
The preventive and proactive approach to child safeguarding was at the heart of our discussions, highlighting the importance of community-wide responsibility. Prevention remains at the core of our efforts, as we endeavour to engage in early intervention to protect and nurture our students.
We were joined by Dr. Sara Delia Menon, an experienced clinical psychologist, who shared her insights and expertise on culturally diverse parenting styles and how schools can support them. Additionally, we shared our experiences from the GESS Preschool’s safeguarding developments over the years and engaged in deep reflection on safeguarding practices.
We look forward to future connections and collaborations as we continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of every child.
