Proficiency In Multiple Languages

At GESS, we pride ourselves on languages being a major part of our DNA, with over 70 languages being spoken in our community. We encourage our students to stay connected to their cultural roots and be ready for future possibilities as multilingual global citizens, by achieving proficiency in multiple languages.

In addition to academic proficiency in English – as the most spoken worldwide – all students at GESS study a second language. German and Danish are offered at different levels from beginner to mother tongue for native speakers. In AY2023/2024, we introduce an integrated Dutch Mother Tongue Programme in the Primary School European Section, where students can enjoy daily Dutch Mother Tongue 45-minute lessons during regular school hours.

Other languages are available and we continue to review our suite of offerings to better suit our community’s needs.
